The line at Denny's was out the door today
Who here went to Denny's for the free breakfast? I didn't go, but I did drive past one at around noon and it was pretty funny. The line was out the door and snaked around to the side of the building. Cars were circling the parking lot in search of the last parking spot.

My condolences to the waitstaff today. That's a lot of work...hopefully people tipped on what the amount would have been if they actually paid for the meal.

2. Free breakfast in this economy? I'm surprised they didn't need the riot squad.
Hadn't heard about it but I'm not surprised at the response. I too hope the waitstaff were tipped appropriately.

5. Denny's advertised the free meal during the Super bowl
I'm surprised they did it too given the economy, but it definitely got them the attention they were looking for.

3. My son begged to go!
I have no idea why. Just the novelty? We don't even have a Denny's near us and he had it in his mind that we would go before school. (?)

Now Waffle House would have been much more doable. They're everywhere here!

7. It's a Jesus Camp referenced nickname given to me by bicentennial_baby
:D

She started a Jesus Camp thread over a year ago when the documentary aired on tv. I was one of the people watching and commenting on it but I was also drinking too and I'm pretty sure I wasn't the only one. The thread started out with all of us being appalled and disgusted but eventually we were just making fun of it and laughing our asses off.

In the documentary, one of the brainwashed kids explained that she only listens to Christian music because she doesn't want to "dance for the flesh". I commented that this girl will be wrapping herself around a pole someday. From there, Fleshdancer was born.

9. don't watch it sober
I don't know how people managed to watch it in the theater...no alcohol and no commercial breaks or the ability to pause it. It will get your blood boiling.

11. My hope was that homeless or hungry people heard about it
I'd like to think that someone who really needed a free meal got one.
