3. I have used a similar epoxy on a leaking joint under my house and it did work for me.
It was recommended by the guy at Ace Hardware (those guys know their stuff and it's too bad my Ace store is closing) when I could not get the joint to stop leaking (the water needed to be off so there was no pressure on the area where the putty was applied). In the example shown in the picture it would certainly be far easier to simply replace rather than use the putty.

7. As was the case with mine
I have a friend that's a plumber and asked him if there was anything sold that would seal a leak and last and he said no. Came by on his lunch break and fixed it free but I gave him $40 nonetheless

10. I was having a hell of a time with this coupling reducer of a larger pipe going to a smaller one.
I'd buy new fixtures and everything and I could not get it to stop leaking. The guy at Ace said the old copper pipes had most likely expanded and so I would not get it to stop leaking. His suggestion was the epoxy putty, but even then I had to apply it twice. I have gotten some great advice from those Ace guys which has saved me a bunch of $ for someone who is only semi-handy.
