1. The alternate pronunciation is more like "egg-zit"
Weird, I know, but then again, George Bernard Shaw once proposed that "fish" should be spelled "ghoti": 'gh' as in rough, 'o' as in women, and 'ti' as in ignition. :-)

8. Well, all the dictionaries agree with you.
The American Heritage® Dictionary of the English Language: Fourth Edition. 2000.

exit

SYLLABICATION: ex·it
PRONUNCIATION: gzt, kst

(Looks like it's a regional thing, neither pronunciation means one is stupid.)

5. In my Southern Maine homeland, we said "three dimes" when we meant "three times"
One to ten times table, our style:

One time
Two times
Three dimes
Four dimes
Fie dimes
Six times
Seven times
Aye dimes
Nine times
Ten times

How's that for a weird localism?

7. Should be x=ks; but, sadly, due to ignorant people fucking up our language,
it appears that "egg-zit" has become an acceptable pronunciation.

In my opinion, it might be acceptable - but it certainly exposes who's the ignorant cousin-marryin' rube in the room.
