Vibes Please....
Hi Everyone,

Can I have some vibes and prayers for MccTaTa's. She is having a tough time dealing with some educational issues with her son. He is a beautiful, extremely bright but Autastic kid. The school district is not responsive to his needs. You all know him as the "but tutcher" but I know him as a great kid that I have grown to love. He deserves better and so does MccT. She is an amazing advocate for him and provides him with all the love and support any mother can give her child. She is his rock. Please send out your vibes and prayers that the school sees the light and does the right thing by him.

6. School districts can be very difficult to deal with...
oftentimes they will try to shunt a challenging kid off into another program to avoid dealing with him/her...
best of luck to all involved.

I had a hard time education wise myself as a child that made my mom furious so I well understand how aggravating this can be.

it unfortunately went even a little worse than I suspected, but I will figure it out eventually, the advice and grounding DUers gave me this AM helped me get through it without crying or killing anyone.

20. She's got 'em.
One of my best friend's son is mildly autustic (Aspie's, and scarily intelligent). After years of alternately fighting with and working with the schools, he's finally settled in and performing well (he's 14 now). I got to see them all over the holidays for the first time in about 4 years, and he was just a delight to be around, as always. I'm sure the but tutcher is, too--and I wish her all the strength she'll need to fight for his best interests. :pals:

It's a damn shame that they have to deal with this, but Mcct is a strong woman and it's great to know they have you standing with them. Together you'll persevere! Vibes goin' out to you all.:grouphug:

25. it can be a hard road for parents when the schools don't "get it" or want
to get it. If she keeps pushing and hangs in there, with a good ed. advocate, things should work out.

Most schools try to do the right thing, but I know it can be frustrating. Best to her and her son.
