The YMCA caught on fire!
I was at the Y earlier this evening, getting in my workout. I did the elliptical and the treadmill and all was well.

I hit the showers and lathered up, soaped up my hair and rinsed it. Slathered on the conditioner, and as I was standing there naked and wet waiting for my hair to marinate

FIRE ALARM!

It took me a minute to recognize it. it sounded more like someone using an electric razor. But then I .. :scared:

I bolted out of there, somehow got my clothes back on. Do you know how difficult it is to get dressed when you are sopping wet? Meanwhile conditioner is still in my hair!

One of the staff directed us down in the gym to the back exit. Outside I could finally tie my shoes... and smell the smoke. It smelled electrical. We walked around to the front of the building and :wow: there were four fire trucks!

And I could see through the front entrance that the lobby area was filled with smoke. :scared: As far is I know everybody got out.

I came home and rinsed out my hair and now I'm in my pajamas thinking about a glass of wine.

3. Thank you Wapsie B
I'm used to fire alarms at work, but this is the first one I've had at a nonwork place. That's why it felt so odd, I guess.

5. Glad you're out okay
During my sophomore year at college, we had a "firebug" in my dorm who kept on lighting furniture and stuff on fire. I got caught in the shower during one of those "fire drills" and remember running outside on a cold November night in my robe and slippers. That was a bit inconvenient, to say the least.
