My house in Kingfisher and my mom's business is flooded...
My mom is hysterical...we've been through so many of these, and it never changes...and if the flood got into my mom's house, it might not be liveable anymore. And I just saw on the news that they had a train derailment there. The water is so high in some places, it's up to the stop sign itself...Y'all, please send good vibes, good thoughts, and as many prayers as you can. This isn't going to be an easy weekend. And what's messed up, is all I can think about is that I need a camera.

1. Ugh, floods
We had one in Indiana last year, and I had the great luck of living in the basement.

Vibes being sent.

2. Sorry to hear that.
Floods are bad news. I hope for the best.

3. Thanks guys...
Its time to start talking my mom into selling the farm and moving into town so she doesn't have to worry about this crap anymore.

4. Update:
Waters are slowly receeding. Looks like I'll be spending my saturday and sunday cleaning up...And I might be skipping class on Monday to help.

5. Glad to hear the water is going down
And whatever you do, get your mom off the river and into town where it doesn't flood. They're not only damaging, they can be deadly, and there are some floods that aren't slow, they sneak up and catch you quick.

Floods suck, and cleaning up the mess afterwards is no better. I lived through the five hundred year flood eleven years ago here in Missouri, and though I didn't have any property under water, I did volunteer for sandbag detail and cleanup. Make sure your tetnus booster is up to date, it's really easy to cut yourself on something nasty when it is under water.

Good luck, I'll be thinking of you.
