Hmmm.... is your picker broken? (no not nose)
do you pick people who are unavailable

or unattainable

or just plain old freaks?

:P

Then I think you may (like me) have a broken picker...

my friend says I'm fishing in the wrong ponds, and that's the problem...

However, I've managed to find the same issues recently in any pond I've fished in and while there are other fish in the sea, are they all the same?

I've met one exception, however she was unattainable for different reasons...

otherwise, I meet up with, am drawn to, emotionally unavailable and relationally unattainable partners...

how do you fix a broken picker? I'm thinking a lot about giving it a rest, focusing in other areas of my life, and developing new and varied interests. Maybe then the ponds will in fact be different enough, and the bait will be better, and the ponds will be deeper.

Otherwise, I'm at the point of saying what's the point of looking for anything but the obvious from someone I'm attracted to and visa versa.

too deep for the lounge thoughts, by SPKrazy ought to be my sig line

I don't know what happened to my sig line anyway lol

3. I'm doing exactly that right now.
I'm resting my picker. In fact, I don't think I'm even paying attention to women right now. I've got too much other crap to work on. Plus, I've noticed that since I quit chasing women, I have a metric shitload of money now. That part alone is worth it.

16. I know, Dear One...
I was just being goofy, you old freak....
My priorities have changed, also...
Sometimes it's good just to look in the other direction...
And you're right about the ponds....
Some deep...some shallow...

But you're not as old as I am......
I grow old...I grow old...Just reminded me of one of my favorite poems...

peace~

23. I got busy with my own life
and "forgot" that I was looking for someone.

I also realized that I had been "picking" unavailable people not because of them, but because
*ahem* I really didn't want to be tied down. I, me, myself was afraid of commitment. *ahem*
Quit looking for outcomes or commitments, just had me some healthy fun/dating.

And I had also decided that I would be completely myself and if that wasn't good enough for "whoever", then their loss.

Started dating guys that were "nice" with no other expectations or requirements (except no republicans!)
Stopped looking for a "type". Nice is clearly overused and highly underrated.

After about 3 years of this, and a handful of nice guys, (still friends with two of them), I met HIM.

We just had our two year wedding anniversary. Me, married? There is a God.
