Any coin collectors out there? Advice Please

So, I have a small suitcase of coins I inherited from my mom. Any one know of any good websites? Thanks in advance.

Any coin's value depends on both rarity and condition. If they are not "slabbed" (certified), you need to know what they may bring if you decide to offer them for sale. Also, DO NOT clean your coins. This subtracts from the value.

If you are looking for a site to give you an idea what the coins may be worth on the market, visit www.apmex.com. They give both a buy and sell price. Don't go by what you see on e-bay. Some of those coins are vastly overpriced! Also do a google search for any collectors clubs in your area. Joining a club is a good way to meet people who can tell you about your coins and may be interested in buying from you. Have fun!

I am going to an appraiser today and I wanted to find a site that would not give me misleading numbers into what they are worth. I want to go in with an idea of what I'm looking at price-wise. None of the coins are mint. I guess I had a uncle that used to get these silver dollars from the horse track and then give them to the kids for Christmas and what not.

4. Keep it hidden away; my collection was prominently displayed in a spare room..

..then my house got burgled. They went straight for the shiny coins -anything out in the open is vulnerable.
