Chez trof: Beer battered butterflied deep fried shrimp.
Right off the boat and delivered to our door.
And CHEAP.
About $5 a pound for 12-14 counts.
Baked stuffed spud.
Broccoli slaw.

And you...?
:-)

6. The shrimp deal is the damndest thing.
The shrimper is a 'part timer'.
His day job is construction.
Which sux here now.
So does shrimping, for that matter.

Anyway...he's eliminated the middleman.
Calls my buddy in the 'hood when he's coming back from a run.
Tells him what he has.
Buddy calls around the 'hood.
"Charlie has 100 pounds of (Whatever his catch is. sometimes it's larger ones '12-14 count' per pound, sometimes it's smaller...'20-30' count. What we call 'gumbo shrimp'.}
How many pounds do you want?"

The shrimper makes more than he would selling it to a processor at the dock.
We buy it for less than we would pay the processor.
And my buddy picks it up from the boat, brings my order here, still iced down,I pay him, and we're all happy.
Win-Win.
:-)

9. Not real specific, but here ya go:
About a half cup of flour.
An egg.
Enough beer to make a fairly thin batter.
I used a Corona, but would have preferred a dark beer.
Miz t. vetoed the dark beer.
Whup it all together.
Dip, fry, serve.

glass of wine with a nice French mini baguette to dunk in it.

15. I glanced at the thread title and saw "beer battered butterflies."
And I thought, "Ewww!" The deep fried shrimp part sounds a lot better.
