A question for DU oldtimers
I noticed the Ashcroft topic in LBN contains over 150 replies. I've only been coming to DU for a few months, so I'm curious as to what topic generated the most replies, and the approximate number of replies.

Thanks!

1. There was a thread in the lounge
titled something along the lines of, "how long will this thread take to die?"

It lasted more than 1,000 posts.

2. I've seen much longer
We've had serious discussions (not silly Lounge threads) that went way over 300. That was about the limit on the old system. I believe we had one go over 500 here on DU2.

3. Isn't there a post limit now...
...if the thread dosen't seem to be going anywhere that after that point it gets locked?

5. Not really
There's no hard and fast limit to that sort of thing.

And most threads die of their own weight after a while.

6. Or shortly after I post.

Either that or they go on far longer than they should have merited.
