Post something you like about New Hampshire
And for the love of God, don't confuse us with those dirty hippies in Vermont!

2. No school funding, either...
:P

Actually, I like the lack of a sales tax, but think we should have an income tax.

6. But a property tax that rips you down to your skivvies twice a year.
Don't forget the View tax, that's a NH fave.

7. What's the "view tax"?
I've never heard of that one.

14. Another way around no sales or income tax
If your property faces or fronts a knockout view as determined by some Concord bureaucrat, you pop extra on the property tax.

but travel for some purchases.

3. Ooh, I LOVE New Hampshire
Portsmouth, Strawberry Banke, the White Mountains, Dartmouth (beautiful), Lake Winnipesaukee, and my friends in Center Sandwich, such a pretty little village. Although I had to gently correct them when they referred to Lake Winnipesaukee as a 'big' lake; in Michigan if you can see across a lake, it isn't big. :P

I love flying in to the Manchester airport; it's great. So clean and well run.

I think New Hampshire's seacoast is interesting too. I love New Hampshire. I love New England!

4. Manchester's airport is fantastic, isn't it?
A heck of a lot easier to deal with than Logan! Mark Brewer and his troops do an excellent job over at MHT.

It's the only airport I know of with a display of campaign buttons in the lobby!

13. Saint Gaudens' Home, Canterbury Shaker Village, Franconia Notch State Park.
The drive through the Kank from Lincoln to Conway.

The first daffodils in spring

The yeasty smell of the earth after an April rain

A constellation of fireflies in the blooming lilac bushes under a late May full moon

The call of a hawk on a lazy July afternoon

Foliage time, crisp and bright as a baroque trumpet

The smell of wood smoke on winter evening

9. I love that John Irving named a novel after it: "Hotel New Hampshire," and that
it is a fantastic novel, and a pretty good movie.

12. The almost filmed that in my childhood home town
The producers actually sent a team to scout out locations in Kingston, particularly the hopelessly outdated high school. Alas, nothing ever came of it.

17. You're not a dirty hippy; you're a swamp yankee.
Say it loud and say it proud. Swamp yankees invited mud bogging -- getting out of their yards in the spring.
