Poll question: Bread: White or Wheat?

If you flat out had to choose one or the other for plain old sandwich bread (Wonder Bread, Ms. Bairds, Buttercrust, Roman Meal, Sara Lee, etc) which do you prefer?

22. When did they start calling it 'wheat' instead of 'whole wheat'?

I mean, of your whitest, squishiest most Wondrous bread is still made with flour ground from wheat, right? They're all wheat, unles, they're corn or oats or something even stranger. SO what's with that? Has whole wheat done a marketing survey, held some focus groups, & they decided the product would move better without the whole?

As I travel I find there are places that do not offer wheat bread as choice, mostly in the mid-west. I refer to this area as the
"Great Mid-Waist".

18. When I was a kid...

I lived in San Antonio and one of the standard elementary school field trips was to the Buttercrust Bakery. I looked forward to that every year.
