1. sad.
I've never been dating anyone on that day. It makes me feel depressed when normally I don't think about my aloneness overly much...

2. It's pretty neutral to me.
The huge marketing push annoys me sometimes; the message appears to be that your loved one doesn't truly love you if he or she does not provide you with candy, flowers, and jewelry. I also get annoyed at the jacked up prices for candy and flowers on February 14th, and I wish that so many people (men in particular) weren't pressured to buy these things just to match up with a date on the calendar.

3. It depends...
I'm going to my favorite bar. If any of the three cute female bartenders are working...especially the one that is flirting with me, it's going to be a good day. Otherwise, it's going to be a sad bottom of the glass sort of night.

4. That was my Mom's birthday so it's bittersweet.
she would have been 68 this year. Anyhow if she thought i'd be moping around the house being sad all day she would have kicked my ass so i don't.

I've been in relationships on that day and I usually request no big deal be made (never a problem as men don't seem to like the whole idea), though chocolate is welcome anytime. :) The 15th is better- super discount on Reese's hearts! :9 (Like I need any.)

17. If I have someone, it's a good day. If not, it's just a day.
I don't get sad about other people's happiness, or depressed over arbitrary celebrations of things I don't have. If I'm seeing someone, I live up the day and take what it gives me. Otherwise, I use the time to plan for Mardi Gras, or spend it with my kids. I leave brooding melancholy for others to enjoy.

19. Happy that it's on a Saturday
I won't be celebrating, but I'm glad that it's on a weekend this year. The women in my office can't "complain" all day about it. For example, "I have to go all the way to the lobby to pick up my flowers." "I'm going to be so tired after dinner and drinks on a weekday." :eyes:

21. Just another day
It was the day my ex-wife and I consummated our relationship (and two days before her birthday). However, it doesn't mean a whole lot to me these days. I'm not in a relationship, and not really looking either, so it doesn't mean a whole lot.

26. It's usually a happy day for me...
Especially if my husband is extra tender...

Sometimes he makes me a Valentine...

And I love that!

I don't require, nor do I ask for, flowers, candy, or diamonds...

27. Valentines Day
It's neither a sad day,or happy day for me.

Just another holiday really, and I think it's highly overrated.

Mind you,I have more or less been single most of my life,
with no serious commitments to speak of,and maybe this is why
I feel this way.

I usually spend Valentines Day alone,or go hang out at
the bar for a few drinks.lol

This yr,I have invited a crush over, and he's agreed to drop by.

I don't want sex or anything, but since he has already kissed me
on a few occasions,I wouldn't mind indulging in a heavy petting
situation after a few beers,if he is up for it.

I'm 30 with a high sex drive,but I am easy to please.lol

Hell,if a cute guy smiles at me,it's pretty much made my day,
so that should tell you something! lol

(I know it has roots in a somewhat legitimate holiday.) But it has been extended far beyond the point of absurdity.

I'll buy a few candies to give to friends at work, and probably do something special for the hubby but it's not something I'm going to put any emotional drama into one way or the other.
