Anybody ever had any periodontal work done?
I think I need to get a graft on my receding gums. Any idea how much that costs?

1. its costly...my advice is to go to a Dr.
that uses Al-aDerm(sp)....its a synthetic 'patch'....very easy no discomfort...

if the Dr. you have to go to only does the grafting from the roof of your mouth

its gonna suck....very painfull and along recovery...i've had both and i have dental

ins. and i believe its around $700.00 per graft...give or take....

3. I had a graft done
But it was with a bunch of other periodontal work, so I don't know what the graft alone would cost.

It wasn't extremely painful.

I hate periodontists on principle--they should have found a cure for periodontal disease by now. The greatest threat to my retirement security is the exorbitant cost of caring for my teeth and gums.

4. Screw the cost...you get a GREAT combo demerol and valium IV drip...
during the procedure.
Unfortunately, they don't let you take the leftovers home with you.

6. I have had extensive work done several times. I used my own
pain reliever - BEER/VODKA. Worked delightfully for me.
