Post something you like / don't like about the State of Kansas
i don't like the fact that I live in Kansas. There's too many fundies and anti-science nutjobs.

1. How much more landlocked can a state be than Kansas?
Sorry, that's all I got. Oh yeah, there once was a band -- Kansas.

7. Lawrence is very nice
but then again, I don't really consider Lawrence a part of Kansas most of the time. You can't go wrong with the hometown of the Cathedral of Basketball and the birthplace of basketball coaching, not to mention the final resting place of the inventor of basketball.

8. Kansas is so flat, when you cross one state border, you can see all the way across the state
to the opposite border. And you make for it as fast as you can...

I don't want my internal-combustion engine to break down in a state where they don't believe in science.

10. I went through Kansas once.
We were on our way from Minneapolis to Phoenix via bus (youth group tour). I don't remember much except stopping at a cafe in Emporia where I ate a slice of pie, and the apple pie was virtually indistinguishable from the lemon pie, which is somewhat disturbing.

Crazy-ass conservatives who vote to destroy the future of their own children, and think it makes them holy.

21. What I like about Kansas
Edited on Sun Feb-08-09 10:01 AM by Sky Masterson
Not much..I lived there for almost 30 years.
What I hate is the small mindedness and bigotry that is prevalent in some of the smaller towns.
All of my siblings still live there.
Most are married to small town men who love their guns and don't know any people of color.
And they are a bit upset and outraged that the evil Democrats have the presidency .
Of course they are all lower income and the ones who have jobs are worried about losing them.
I'll never understand them.
