Edited on Sun Feb-08-09 12:29 PM by graywarrior
and still walk around like king shit, hissing and spitting at everyone as usual and NOT be in pain? HOW?

Seriously. And why does this always happen on my watch? Jesus H Fuckingchrist! Cat sitting three cats, plus my own and so far two of them have had major fucking issues requiring visits to the vet. And get this, I have to drive 80 miles to the emergency clinic because the regular vet the owner takes her cats to is closed today. WTF? I have a urinary infection myself for fuck's sake! At least I'm hoping it's an infection and not fucking cancer....my luck lately sucks....keep smiling, take a deep breath, everything is cool.

SO...I'm putting bacitracin on his skull...yes, his fucking SKULL and keeping him indoors....why they let him out in the first place...grrrrrr! and I will drive him 4 miles down the road tomorrow to his regular vet. Meanwhile, everytime I look at him I dry heave. Jesus, what a fucking freak show my life is sometimes. And of course this morning I had no internet due to some other god damn freak shit that searches me out, finds me, and rams me up the ass with a pinecone of freakfuck!!!

I need a god damn meeting but I have to drive 20 GOD DAMN MILES TO GET TO ONE !!!

9. Regular cranberry has too much sugar in it, in my experience.
And the pure cranberry is expensive and hard to find. But everyone has vinegar, and usually for me about half a cup does the trick. Tough to choke down, though!

24. We cannot figure that out.
We got up in the morning and there it was...a gaping smile on the top of his head. He doesn't even act like it bothers him. It doesn't look like he was in a fight. All we can think of is that an icicle fell on his head.

29. Trying to squeeze under a chain link fence?
There's a lot of sharp bits on those things.

People wounds don't bother as much as animal wounds for some reason.

I nearly sold buicks when my cat tore a hole in his shoulder exposing the bones.

31. Ohmygod. That poor cat and poor you.
That wound looks like it should be stitched or something. But then again, if you put the antibiotic on it and he stays in, he'll probably heal on his own. There probably aren't that many nerves on the skin on his head which is why he's not in distress. Still that's a really ugly wound.

38. A healthy cat is relatively durable - over the years we had one cat
that got hit by a car two or three times (one broken pelvis) and kicked by mother deer several times. He died from old age.

Another cat must have been hit by a car and scraped the fur and skin off one leg - it honestly looked like a chicken drum stick sans skin. He healed up just fine, right down to the stripes back in place and lived to a ripe old age.

Amazing. His skull is hanging out and he's already been in a howling scrap with one of the other cats in the basement and now he's looking for someone else to tangle with.

43. One of our co-op cats ripped his throat on the top of a chainlink fence
Had a diamond-shaped flap of skin hanging off his throat for a few days, then it started healing. The fur grew back eventually, but it was pretty trippy for three or four days there. No scar.

Cats have an obnoxious tolerance to pain - which can be bad if they're sick, they're real good at hiding it.
