12. Yeah, you're right. I don't like him, but that doesn't mean he sucks.
Talented guy, just rubs me wrong. And an old girlfriend blamed her cheating on one of his songs, so that didn't help.

32. I never realized music was such a violent, warlike art form.
Is he going to kill Mayer after he blows him out of the water? Do we all need flags demonstrating which side we are on? Is there an anthem we can sing?

9. Because the guy is an amazing talented and kicks ass on the guitar
I've seen him twice now in concert and everytime is just a great concert he'll do. He has a great voice and he is probably one of the best of the new generation of guitar players out there.

The JM Trio is great stuff, the "Your Body's a Wonderland" crap... not so much. John, stick with the Blues, you do it so well.

13. John Mayer wins a Grammy,he can thank his girlfriend Jennifer Anniston
My guess is that John Mayer won a Grammy, because he is
banging Jennifer Anniston.

A trend with the Grammy's,is that often the most deserving person
never wins,it's all a popularity contest really.

24. I think it won Best Alt-Rock Album
I thought the performance was sorta disappointing. It was pretty much just Thom, Jonny, and the USC band. It wasn't Radiohead.

17. Ummm... because the grammys rarely award talent.
In fact, it's often more of an honor not to receive one, because far too often the assholes who vote on the grammys tend to give out what amounts to a "Your career has finished itself" posthumous award.

22. Remember who got "Best New Artist" in 1979?
Didn't think you did.

It was A Taste of Honey. You know who they beat? The Cars AND Elvis Costello.

And don't forget who won Best New Artist in 1990: Milli Vanilli.

The Grammies suck a pile of donkey balls.

19. John Mayer is one of the people the Grammys love
He has won several other times (5, I think). There are certain singers that the Grammys seem to reward a lot. Beyonce, for example, has won 10 times (seriously...10 times!!).

28. sadly a lot of folks who truly are excellent musicians never get that recogni-
tion.

It's why I seldom watch anymore, since most of the folks honored seem so shallow and without talent. But Buddy Guy actually thinks Mayer has enough blues chops to play with him, so...
