I just had a Poem Accepted for Publication!

(pending a slight revision, that is).

It's a new poem I wrote this summer and workshopped when I was at Sarah Lawrence College this past summer.

And it's for a national literary magazine, and it will be my first acceptance since I began submitting this fall.

This is the first time I've submitted my work since 1993, and so far I've been collecting rejections, but here's the first acceptance.

get a memo spindle and impale each one on top of the other. It's quite cathartic, really, and you can watch as the stack grows in height. Fun for the whole family.

I won't bother you for the name of the magazine, since I know you can't say it, but I will be avidly looking for it as time rolls by. And I will buy it, too! (I actually love those literary magazines and buy lots of them, The Gettysburg Review, Court Green, Spillway, etc.) There are some excellent poems in there. I almost got the nerve to submit one to Court Green once, but didn't and I'm still sorry.
