I just found out my first love got divorced

It happened six years ago, but I only found out a few minutes ago.

I haven't seen her or spoken to her in over 25 years.

I'm sad now; I really wanted her to be happy.

But I can not but think she must have been deeply unhappy, in order to decide that divorce was the solution.

I hope she can still find happiness.

3. hmmm...

I went out with the first love of my life (we were 16) last Christmas. We hadn't really seen each other in 13 years. She's getting a divorce. We had a nice time. Now it's complicated.

4. From what I've gathered 2nd hand, her father's meddling was the cause,

again...

I'm not considering rapprochement; The past is the past for me.

I had hoped she made made a good choice but, evidently, she will not be free to live her own life until Don Jesus, her father, has passed on.

6. oh, that's sad then

I wanted my lady friend to be happy too, but, honestly, she hadn't even crossed my mind in many many years. I was most surprised that after so long we were in some ways so similar to who we were as teenagers. Her parents are still great though - that's what keeps her together (we're friends now, which is nice).
