I know this sounds shallow of me, but when I saw "Six Flags" on the list, I almost burst into tears.

For millions of us, all of those childhood memories will be just that - memories. :cry:

that's less not more likely in this economy...NewsCorp had so much liquid-asset cash on-hand when all this started that they've been buying shite up on discount for months...they're reaping the fire sale. It only looks bad on paper because they're spending billions to buy things not worth billions in this economy (like the WSJ. Expect them to also make a play on all those newsprint-properties that the Tribune Co. is trying to dump.), knowing if they prop them up through the end of this recession that they'll make out like bandits as their undervalued cash-poor properties return to liquidity and value...those in the robber-baron class who weren't wiped out in the Great Depression did the same thing.

Large economic downturns tend to concentrate wealth, at least temporarily. What we need is to make the SOBs walk the plank.

I don't eat processed food anymore but they bring back childhood memories. They were never available in NY where I grew up, but my grandfather would always mail us cases of them.

Since I've moved to NJ they've lost their lure (ok my waistline does not need to be expanded either).

The monkeys are absolutely hilarious. When you drive your car through, it's quite common for them to hop onto your hood or roof and enjoy the ride. And sometimes they will stare at you through your windshield. It's the funniest thing ever! :)

Though I like their brewing philosophy...they dump coffee rather than let it sit. No cup is ever as fresh as one that has been brewed in the last 5 minutes. I just wish they'd use better beans, fresh grind and better water.

28. I don't know how DD succeeds

when I worked for the S*bux there was a DD down the street from us...maybe 1/4 mile? When I was leaving they were opening another one a 1/4 in the other direction and there was one in the supermarket down the block. So...3 DDs in a 1/2 mile and all I ever heard from customers was how they drove past 5 or 6 DDs to come to Starbucks for coffee.

At no point did the DDs ever hurt our business.

New-Englanders must drink a lot of coffee. I don't think they'd open more stores in an area if they were losing money locally.
