1. Nearer My God to Thee
How mysterious are thy ways, O Lord. You bring down the mighty and stick John Ashcroft in the hospital. How great thou art.

3. God had nothing to do with it.
I had 'em, and I can verify that gallstones are no fun. It might explain his cranky behavior, though.

I don't think he can expect a "get well" card from me, but I refuse to indulge in schadenfreude.

According to Mr. Ashcroft's own beliefs, everything that happens is God's will.

11. He's being made very comfortable with painkillers
and the best medical care money can buy. I'd hope he'd extend the same compassion to others who suffer with excruciating pain that they be allowed to find the relief they need.

Nah, not gonna happen. :evilfrown:

13. This is mostly why I don't care
Because this jackass would deny millions access to basic health care if given the opportunity. Perhaps he's in pain, but what about the millions of other Americans who would go through this without proper treatment?

So fuck him - I hope he's in a lot of pain.

And that, in the name of justice, that he would have to sit it out for a few hours in agony in the emergency room, like so many without health insurance have to endure.

But Ashcroft is a horse of a different color. May each gallstone inflict as much pain to him as the pain suffered by each and every one of the soldiers who have died in the chimp's invasion of Iraq.

We thank thee for smiting that pompous, puritanical, Elmer Gantry who calls himself our attorney general. We pray that thou would continue to torment and afflict Mr. Ashcroft most grievously, yea, even until all of his internal organs rot.

Amen and Amen. ;-)

34. My main wish for him, is that while he is lying there in that bed
that he thinks about all the magnificent medical care he is getting, and wonders how it would be to be in the same condition..except with no job,and no insurance..

If he does that, he may come out a better person.. I doubt that he will give it a thought, but I can dream :)

I can't say I'm exactly sorry, no. And if he *did* shuffle off this mortal coil (unlikely from gallstones alone, painful though they are), well...hey, he believes he's going to heaven, right? I'm sure his maker will receive him with the warmth he's due.
