LOS ANGELES (AP) -- "Grey's Anatomy" cast member James Pickens Jr. says the medical drama will be saying goodbye to Katherine Heigl and T.R. Knight.

Pickens, who plays Dr. Richard Webber on the ABC series, told Us Weekly magazine that Heigl and Knight are leaving.

Pickens says he wishes Heigl "nothing but the best," the magazine reported online Tuesday. He says his other co-star, Knight, wants to pursue other "career paths."

Publicists for Knight and for series creator Shonda Rhimes declined comment. Requests for comment from Heigl's publicist and ABC were not immediately returned.

Heigl, who plays Dr. Izzie Stevens, starred in the films "Knocked Up" and "27 Dresses," and has another movie, "The Ugly Truth," coming out.

9. When Denny's ghost

became a regular on the show, I stopped watching. I liked the "Denny" character just fine when he was alive, but as a ghost, he was dead to me.

I suppose Izzy will die at the end and fade off into the Great Beyond with the spirit of her beloved Denny. :eyes:

The dating a ghost story is just awful. I've read "spoilers" about why they are doing the Denny storyline but it's still stupid. Izzie was my favorite character. I also liked George and Callie. Without Katherine and T.R., there's not much left to the show.

I usually get to see Patrick Dempsey up close and personal every year because he races here, and I knowz people. My mom is jealous cuz she thinks the sun rises and sets on him. I'm kinda like... meh. He's cute and friendly, doesn't have much of a butt though.

That lame story line with the dead boyfriend - like she was losing her mind - had to be annoying as hell. imho, it made her character less credible, it was just a waste of time.

Apparently Katherine Heigl is going to attempt the movie star thing. Hope she doesn't pull a David Caruso. I feel bad that T.R. Knight got obnoxious, though (according to reports)--I always liked George. Izzie--meh. As far as I'm concerned, take her away, Denny! Off to the great beyond with the both of you! See yez! :hi:
