I figure with the dreaded Valentine's Day coming, many of us will need a place to go to get away from it all.

What is the Valentine's Day equivalent of Bah Humbug? I wonder.

I'm going to try to forget this holiday even exists between now and when it finally goes back into hibernation until next year. It always depresses me worse than any other holiday. :(

I may indulge in a nice vodka and chocolate milk concoction I make sometimes. Then again, I may go all out and make a homemade chocolate shake with Ovaltine and Hershey's syrup instead.

I'm thankful that I never got into Valentine's Day, and always thought it was just a money gimmick commercial type thing. I really tried to ignore it when I was partnered...but it's something one can't really ignore...if that makes sense.

We should show our love daily...

That's the spirit.

I have nothing against people enjoying Valentine's Day, but there's something to be said for not allowing the calendar to determine how one feels and what one does. Anniversaries, events, holidays, and so forth are meaningful to some and an obligation/cruel reminder to others.

In a perfect world everyone would feel loved and have a peaceful heart. We ain't there yet, and let's try to make it better for those who are hurting.

And that applies to anyone reading this.

8. I'm so sorry....

What I posted seemed to be dismissive of everyone's feelings...
I didn't mean it to come out that way, but after rereading, that's how it sounded.
I have a friend in a situation regarding Valentine's Day, and her feelings are very hurt...
I should think before typing...
I'm probably in the minority with my feelings regarding this day...and now feel that I shouldn't have posted them.

it's exceptionally long-distance (she's in New Zealand, me in Texas.) We can't even touch and that's something I miss in a relationship.

We'll probably spend the night on Skype.
