Yes! "Last Watch" is out!
Fourth in the "Night Watch"-related series by Sergei Lukyanenko. I inhaled "Twilight Watch" in a couple of days. Gritty, smart, adult stuff.

I know of at least one fan here; any more beside the two us?

1. I didn't know that there were more than "Night Watch"
I remember when it came out, and it seemed interesting, but I didn't see it until I caught about 1/2 of it on tv last year - seemed pretty good. I'd like to see the entire film sometime.

2. The local art house theatre showed "Night Watch" and ran previews for weeks and weeks so I got to
learn about it when it was new; didn't see it in the theater, but later rented it, then heard that the film differs from the book. I've read the other three since then and strongly recommend them if the first pleased you at all (film or book). Stuff like this doesn't always hold up well in a series, but this is strong overall.

3. I'll try to keep it in mind
I've been really bad about reading lately - I just restarted Thomas Pynchon's "Against the Day" the other night, which I bought in 2007, read bits of for a week or two and didn't pick up again until now - just too busy/distracted to do much reading. However, doing the reading reminded me of why I like reading - it's relaxing, but doesn't make me feel like an idiot. Same has gone for films - I've seem some lately, because I had the foresight to ask my parents to get me some DVDs for Christmas - otherwise I'd never watch anything.

5. I just watched the first two movies.
I downloaded them and watched them over the last two weekends. I intend to buy the bluray discs and the book series in the immediate future. Good stuff!
