So I wake up almost late for work. I get a taxi and take it to my job. I wonder why
there are so few people at the shopping centre. In fact there is nobody. Then I realize I am off by 12 hours and woke up at 4:30 AM (I was planning on sleeping in until early afternoon that day so had it in my mind it was afternoon when I woke up). LOL!

So the lack of sunlight at that time of "day" isn't a big giant clue? :P

4. I live in Canada where it gets dark early in mid winter. When I woke up I had it in my mind

"it was getting dark". Really I think I was in a dream state when I did all the decision making.

6. Oh it will get dark by 5PM. It was 4:30 on the clock. The further north you go the darker it gets
earlier in the day.

7. I know about that
I was just confused about the 'early afternoon' part as I interpreted that to mean no later than 2pm :)

9. I was expecting to wake up at about 2PM. I had that early afternoon wake up on my mind as I woke up.
I looked at the clock and it said 4:30. I assumed in my dreamlike state that it was 4:30 PM and I had overslept. So the darkness wasn't enough to shake me out of my time fugue.

8. Wow! I can't believe that you actually

Prepared yourself for work and actually called and rode in a taxi all the while not realizing that it was morning instead of evening (even if it is dark in both the early morning and the late afternoon in Canada). There have been times when being in a dream state has prompted me to do unusual things (I remember once waking up and walking from my bedroom to the family room because I thought that our country's Prime Minister was going to give a speech) but I snap out of it before I leave my house. You must have been very tired

10. I also called my brother and apologized for not meeting up with him at 2PM like I had planned.
I just put on my clothers, called my brother to apologize. Called a taxi and went. My brother woke up and called me while I was gone. He tried to tell me that I was off by 12 hours but I didn't have my cell phone with me.

13. That happened to me in New York
After flying in from the west coast, I fell asleep in my hotel. When I woke up the clock said 6:30 but I couldn't tell morning or evening for looking out the window. Had to call the desk.
