I am sick of hearing ESPN defending A-Rod
Today I heard Steve Phillips saying how he felt bad for A-Rod. :puke:

I'm sorry, but A-Rod did not 'make a mistake'. He knew exactly what he was doing. True, this story should never have come out since they were not going to release any of the names of those that tested positive in 2003. But, how could you possibly feel sorry for this man? It really is sickening watching people defend him.

1. Yeah I know.
I don't feel sorry for people who through their OWN STUPIDITY bring WELL DESERVED negative attention.
How the fuck does one let oneself be injected with substances that he to this day claims he still doesn't know exactly what they were. Uh okay.

2. At least he has owned up to it & apologized
unlike Barry Bonds & Roger Clemens and 103 other major leaguers. Jason Giambi got a pass after he owned up to using steroids, so why should A-Rod be different?

3. But I think he only apologized because he got caught
Before this he denied ever using them.

6. Of course he confessed because he was caught
But, have you gone in and confessed about each time you've exceeded the speed limit while driving, or claimed a little more in charitable deductions on your income tax return, or spent work time reading/posting at DU?

4. Screw the ESPN jock sniffers
The Four Letter Network latches onto certain athletes and puffs them up ad nauseum. A-Rod, Ichiro, the Manning Brothers, LeBron James, and Tim Tebow all come to mind. If they still had the NHL Sidney Crosby would probably be on the list, but sonce ESPN has imposed a blackout on NHL coverage, that's a moot point.

Weird thing is that the ESPN studios are in Bristol, Connecticut, which is basically a Red Sox town.

8. ESPN sucks
There was a time when it was fairly cool, Sportscenter focused on highlights and news instead of letting personalities blather on like they know shit from Shinola, and what experts they did have actually knew a thing or too.

Now, it's an entertainment network without the sense to finally get rid of Chris Berman.

9. I couldn't care less about the story
I think all players in all sports should be able to responsibly use performance enhancing drugs, at the consent and guidance of a licensed doctor.
