I am disappointed in Terrence Howard's comments about the Chris Brown/Rhianna situation.
"Chris is a great guy. He'll be all right," Howard says. "And Rihanna knows he loves her."

Obviously I don't know the facts of the situation, but I like Terrence Howard as an actor. The more I hear about the abuse, the worse it seems to be. Of course, none of it is confirmed.

1. yep, that's the kind of language people use
to justify abuse.

Although the more I hear about the situation, the more I think, if it's true, then Brown needs psychiatric help. If his mother was in an abusive relationship when he was young, as has been reported, then it's not real surprising that he might have fallen into the same pattern. (Studies seem to show that this is likely.) I think, particularly since he's said he never wants to be like that, that jail might not be the best way to handle the situation.

2. I agree. He does need some type of help. It is a vicious cycle
that just keeps repeating itself. I hope he is able to get a handle on it. He might lose everything. Sad since he is only 19, but I hope he willing to be proactive in getting some help.

I have "heard" that he strangled her to unconsciousness. That is a an unconfirmed rumor.

3. wow, I hadn't heard that rumor
that's really bad. (not that any of it is good)

Hopefully he can get that help - he's young enough that it might work. Or maybe he hasn't yet fallen fully into the pattern of abuser and this is enough to scare him straight (unlikely but possible).

4. The rest of that quote was something...
to the effect "Everybody just needs to leave them alone and let them work it out."

Bull. And. Shit.

She needs to run, not walk, as fast as she can away from this man.
He needs to be put in jail if this is true, and then required to have mental health counseling.

None of this "let them work it out and everything wil be peachy" shit Howard is trying to push.

I really like Howrad as an actor, too, but the guy is turning out to be a bit of a freak IRL. His views on female hygene are bizarre.

12. Here you go!
http://jezebel.com/gossip/hate-male/terrence-howard-thinks-women-are-unclean-and-dressed-like-whores-287242.php

"Toilet paper - and no baby wipes - in the bathroom. If they're using dry paper, they aren't washing all of themselves. It's just unclean. So if I go in a woman's house and see the toilet paper there, I'll explain this. And if she doesn't make the adjustment to baby wipes, I'll know she's not completely clean."

And there's this gem:

"I like women who look like me. Generally, you're attracted to women who look like you, because the most beautiful thing in nature is your own reflection."

21. yup - I used to like Howard, but now, not so much

That Elle magazine interview about female hygiene was weird. And then he was dropped from the sequel to Iron Man; I think he might be a difficult person to deal with.

6. Terrance Howard strikes me as an odd one, he's made some pretty weird comments in the past.
Anyhow local radio was saying all kinds of nasty things about Rhianna....ie she's a bitch and you know what she could be the biggest nastiest bitch in the world that doesn't mean it's okay for Chris Brown or any other guy to beat her up. I was so pissed when i heard the on air personalties just cracking on her and i'm not a fan of hers either but please that's just ridiculous.

Their comments reminded me of people that ask what a rape victim was wearing when she was attacked.

8. That is awful. Why can't he be an ass?
No one deserves to be smacked around.

My radio station "heard" that she threw his keys out of the window and when he wasn't able to find them, he went crazy. Supposedly strangled her, punched her, and she passed out and he fled the scene. All of that is hearsay though.

11. that's what really pissed me off, like i said i'm not a fan of either but the way
they just jumped on her was mind boggling, they had callers saying "i saw her at a club and she was nasty" and then the on air girl said "I've seen her out and she's never nice" like she fucking knows, like she's bff's with that girl? Not one caller said "so what, even if she's nasty does that make it right to hit her?" not a one. There must be a whole bunch of Rhianna haters out there which is pretty sad,

He was good in Crash, Ray, and Lackawanna Blues. Never saw Hustle and Flow.

10. This is the guy who considers women who don't clean their "private parts"
with moist toilettes to be unclean. I'm not sure he's a big fan of women in general.

13. I guessed I missed his previous comments.
How the hell would he know anything about a woman being clean? He is a freakin' man. He would really be horrified at other stuff that goes on with women down there.

16. I think he's a poorly educated snob.
Yes, many of us in Europe do use moist toilettes to clean after going to the bathroom, but I think that's an extension of the bidet mentality. I bet his butt isn't any cleaner than the "party parts" of the women he's snubbing. Just sayin'.

15. Re:Terrence Howard
Yes,I totally feel the same way!

Terrence Howard should be ashamed of himself for making
such a comment,as it makes it seem like abuse towards a woman
is ok.

Abuse of any kind is not ok,especially towards a woman.

"Chris Brown is a great guy,he'll be alright,Rihanna
knows he loves her"....

Well,I beg to differ.

If Chris Brown loved Rihanna,he wouldn't have beaten her to
a pulp.

This was not just a slap in the face, her face is bruised,
her jaw reportedly relocated, and bite marks all over her body.

Chris Brown needs a lot of therapy,as well as anger management
classes.

If Rihanna were smart, she would realize her worth,
and kick Chris Brown's ass to the curb.

Oh another thing,I have lost a lot of respect for
Terrence Howard.

If he thinks this situation is ok,it makes me wonder if he
is a woman beater as well!

It's safe to say that Terrence Howard made a mistake
with such a comment,as no one is going to be too anxious to
work with him now.

19. I hope Brown gets some counseling because usually
this type of abuse rears its ugly head time and time again.

18. Chris Brown physically attacked his girlfriend Rhianna.
He is 19 and she is 20. What he supposedly did to her was horrific. Bit her, strangled her, punched her, etc.

22. In abusive relationships...
Isn't it often true that the abusers not only has people around them justifying the abuse, but also always goes crawling back, saying that they'll never do it again until the next bloody nose? It's like a mindgame, until the abuser has complete ownership of their victim. Then, they don't feel like they have to apologize anymore, or end up killing the victim.
