I stimulated the economy today.
I bought 4 pairs of jeans and 3 bras for myself, and 3 shirts for my husband.

Everyone has to do their part. What are you doing to stimulate the economy?

They need to be replaced about every 3 years. yikes...

Our energy bills are the highest in the summer. There'll be a whole lotta stimulating for that when we have to run the a/c.

65. hmm, haven't heard about that - I'm not much of a barfly these days
which is why I'm always touting Dee's Six Pack n Dogs in Regent Square, since you can just enter the beer cave and take your beer out. I really don't think you need to worry about a bar on the South SIde going out of business, though.

But maybe I can go there with the husband - he used to work on the South SIde and we spent some time in Piper's Pub. ;) :hi:

If anybody wants to date me, I am not as porky as Pauly Shore (almost) but I have a personality that, believe it or not, is remarkably underrated despite its purported shallowness. Want references?

27. A RAID 5 of Velociraptor hard drives will be blazing FAST... and hard drives are, by default,
the slowest part of a computer, by far.

Mind you, if I had $1000 I'd buy a dual quad core mono - or a Mac if I had $3000. But for $500, I'm tempted on 2 more velociraptors and add my existing one to make the array... I just don't do enough 3D to justify two quad core processors... more than enough 2D and photo work to justify a fast, redundant RAID.

45. Upon seeing it in my stocking I became excited and poured my beer on my shirt to test it.
I could hear mom start to complain that I shouldn't do that as I leaned back and lay the shamwow onto my chest. While the shirt was still slightly moist after applying the shamwow (thus not totally annihilating the spill) it was pretty well taken care of and much better than most towels. Also, I could have worked a little harder on the spill with the shamwow by removing the shirt and rolling it up with the shamwow, but I had Christmas activities to attend to and didn't bother keep on working on a spill that was pretty well taken care of. I think it's a good product.

43. Well
I won't see that extra $20 a week or so in the stimulus package even though I have taxable income.

I'm watching my pennies. I only let go of 'em for necessities these day. Transportation. Utilities. Food required to supplement whatever is already in the pantry and freezer. Insurance. Taxes. Not much else.

Property taxes, homeowners insurance and car insurance total over $8000 annually. That is for a 60 year old less than 1800 square foot home that is not in a trendy neighborhood and for a low mileage 5 year old vehicle with all the good driver and multipolicy discounts. Frickin' insane.

54. It's not just an insurance issue
Property taxes here are out of control.

My latest rant on that subject is posted here:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=105x8506743

I am a female in my mid to late 40's - and some combination of self-employed long-term unemployed with my own high desuctible catastrophic care medical insurance. That adds another $3000 annually to the insurance tab. So it costs me about $1000 monthly for insurance and real estate taxes.

I'm getting f*cked.

I have North America, Mexico, Central America, Venezuela, Ecuador, Colombia, Southern South America, Antarctica, the Caribbean, Australia, Africa, Madagascar, India, the Himalayas, Sri Lanka, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and Hawaii.

So, I need more. :D

Oh, and I went grocery shopping yesterday too. Albertsons has this new Monopoly game that I am kind of excited about. Monopoly game... heh, the irony, what with the economy.... However, I really prefer Whole Paycheck for a lot of groceries. Mostly I get veg anyway, so I like good organic veg. Which Albertsons no longer carries for some reason.
