I need a tranquilizer for my kid so I'm not on pins and needles listening for him to wake up. I can't enjoy watching Lost live--I tend to wait till Thursday when he's in school so I can watch it in peace. I hate waiting, though. x(

A plane flying from Sydney to LA crashed but there are survivors. Two groups - one from the front one from the tail. They land in an Island that no one knows exist, the black box will send rescuers at a wild goose chase. There have been people living and visiting the island, people do not age, do not die, but cannot give birth to babies.

The last three years were moving from flashback to flash forward and this year time changes at a flash.

Six of them managed to escape - that was the group at the dark marina in LA and there is a debate of whether they need to go back.. and how, since the island is moving.

The island has a lot of mysteries, like that black smoke that grabbed the French expedition. Locke was a wheelchair bound who started walking as soon as he found himself tossed on the island after the crash. There is another couple - we have not seen them recently. She was diagnosed with inoperable cancer but now, apparently, is cancer free. When they first crashed, they met the French woman, Danielle Rousue (sp?) as an older, bitter, survivalist.

All the time changes that occur when there is a light flash take the main characters back and forth and it is up to us to try to find the connection between them.

Also, the main group that survived, have had problems in their lives and, at least in the first two seasons, the island appeared as a place for them to redeem themselves.

If you are going to start watching this, start an hour earlier, where the subtitles explain some of the characters.

Excellent re-cap. I started watching the first season, then stopped after a few episodes. The current mysteries/twists have sparked an interest. I doubt I will watch everything to get caught up anytime soon, but wanted to at least get the gist. Thanks.

I read that he had to learn Korean for the part, and Koreans in the audience thought his mangling was pretty horrific.

Masi Oka's accent is supposedly terrible, and James Kyson Lee, who is actually Korean-American, is much worse.

Magic and science?

I think Eloise is a magician and there is going to be some sort of ceremonial magic as part of the plot.

This is very yin/yang to me. Essential archetypes of balance between energies.
