My brother had to have his oldest dog put to sleep last night. His dogs are his children, and I know he and my sister-in-law are hurting deeply now.

Amber was a sweet pup...I dogsit for them once a year usually for a weekend in January or early February. I'm sorry I wasn't able to help them out this last time, as I would've liked to say goodbye to my "niece".

that is so sad I hate it when pets grow old and it's just their time...so heartbreaking! At least she's up there in pet heaven, maybe chasing my dear departed companions Cat and Dave and Felix around and romping with Princess my old collie dog... :cry:

Glad she had such a happy life and was loved, and able to love in return. No doubt she'll be missed.

One of our cats is really just hanging in there by a thread, or a claw, or a whisker, or whatever. I dread the grief to come.
