I think my dog is "nesting". At least that is what I call it.

I want to lay on the couch and watch TV, maybe go to sleep.

He digs and scratches the hell out of the couch, till my pillows and blankets are strewn all over. Like, he has to waste the whole damned room to get comfy. Then he lays down and snoozes.

I think he's just a little poop.

1. Yep, that's nesting....

When they make circles first, I call it :checking for snakes".

When they mess up rags and pillows, or laundry left lying around, I call it "making the bed" but "nesting" sounds right!

My mom was taking the picture, first she had it facing herself, then she couldn't hold it still because she shakes so much.

These critters are so funny, Ginny acts like a cat, but burrows like a gopher but not in dirt.

Sleeps in the bed under all the bedding down by my legs, I don't know how she breaths.

Cripes, I have to crawl into the top of the bed and make sure I don't disturb any of them while pushing myself down into bed.

I swear, sometimes its just easier to sleep on the couch. And then they still end up on top of me!

8. Terriers do seem to have that "digging" instinct ingrained in them.

My friend has a terrier mutt, maybe a little bigger than yours, who scratches at people relentlessly when he's excited. Like to the the point that you have to block sensitive areas. :rofl:

20. The beagle does that. Works and works to make her blanket just right

before lying down. She has a Scooby-doo kids' sleeping bag that I bought at a resale shop that's her favorite blanket. She'll actually drag it from room to room to make a nest in just the right spot. I'm thinking of getting her another one, to save some wear and tear on the blanket...and her.

When the cat is lying next to me (on the outside) I do what is for me an exceptionally acrobatic slither exit so as not to disturb him, and just as I get the second foot onto the ground and start moving to the upright position, the damn cat, now sole and undisturbed possessor of the entire couch, just gets up and jumps off and saunters insouciantly off.

33. I once had all 3 pets on the bed and tried to crawl in through near the headboard.

That wasn't easy!

And then to adjust arms, legs, and body to where each one was camped.

Sometimes I don't see any of them anywhere. I am certain that is when they are having private meetings to plot this shit against me.
