Dear DU Internet Explorer 7 experts... Need help.
Suddenly, like three days ago, my installation of IE7 on Wix XP started closing my active window when I click on a link that opens in another window. If I have multiple tabs active, it will ask f I want to close all and I can cancel. Of course if I only have one tab active it will close that instance of IE7 without warning.

This is not normal, and I can't find the "off" switch. WTF?

10. Thanks! Unfortunately, it does not.
Maybe I will just have to remove and reload.

4. Yep. I NEVER use Internet Exploder in any version.
Firefox
Seamonkey
Opera
Anything but.

7. Safari on the Mac is pretty good. However
I prefer FireFox because I switch between the Mac and Windows OS (only when I REALLY have to). FireFox looks/acts identical in either environment.

Also, Safari runs into trouble on my company websites for some reason. That's the only issue I've ever had with it.

FireFox is vastly superior to IE. None of the security issues, faster tabbed browsing, great add-ons, and it's quick.

Why anyone would want to chain themselves to IE if they have a choice is beyond me.

5. Go to
Edited on Thu Feb-12-09 08:19 AM by MicaelS
Tools (upper right corner) > General (tab) > Tabs (at the bottom of the window) > Settings

Then adjust your settings to your liking. Then click OK, close all IE7s and restart a session.

8. I am aware of where the options are, as noted in the OP.
Obviously, this problem goes farther than such simplistic advice.
