Hawkeye's destruction after the bus incident is still powerful even so many years later.

43. I was more upset by what happened with Charles.
Maybe that is because I love music.

He was a selfish prig, but the human loss got to him on a deep level.

4. The finale of Star Trek TNG was very good
A fitting and well-crafted close to the series.

Arrested Development also had a good finale, all things considered.

9. One minor flaw in it, but it is quite forgivable...
"All Good Things..." made a far better feature film than any of the four TNG flicks.

25. Which flaw are you thinking of?
The one that bothered me was how long it took for them to conclude that "anti-time" would flow backwards relative to "normal" time. I mean, as soon as I heard the term, I just assumed outright that it would be reversed, yet it took Data et al quite a span of time to get there.

Regardless, Q's near-revelation to Picard at the end is magnificent--one of the best moments in all of Trek IMO.

29. The one where they reach the point (in the future) when they create the anomaly...
yet if the anomaly travels backwards, how do they bugger off to let the future-Picard whine and flail, only to return later to see a fully developed anomaly, already in form. (the plot has them all saying "Oh, it took time for it to create in regular time to form so it could travel backwards." A quaint line, but it doesn't ring true.

A double paradox? Paradoxes? A pair o' paradox? :D

Indeed, with the very name "anti-time", even Troi could have fathomed it out in less time than Data...

15. There is absolutely no contest - that one was by far the best ever - as satisfying as a classic
piece of literature - pulling together all the loose ends into a satisfying conclusion - most series aren't conceived as a whole or with the idea that there would be a conclusion so the finales are usually pretty lame.

48. I agree.
Though the last two and a half seasons I had felt it lost it's way. (The whole sister in law affair murder plot was a disaster.)

I felt the last episode made up for a lot of bad writing that came before.

7. "Blake's 7" (spoiler)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LY10pMsq3N8

It helps to know the full series, but most TV shows don't quite end like that one... or what led to it:

Blakes 7 was the first Sci-Fi show to have: An arc story, kill off characters if necessary, use cliffhangers.

The USA at the time was ahead of us in special effects, but we were ahead in characterization and stories.

23. The Stargate SG-1 season 8 finale.
They thought the series wasn't going to be picked up for a ninth season, so the two-part episode "Moebius" was intended to be a series finale. It served that purpose wonderfully. I see the 9th and 10th seasons as spin-off--the series ended after season 8.

40. I loved the last episode of the "Newhart" show
Where he woke up in bed with his wife from "The Bob Newhart Show" and told her about the strange dream he had about owning an inn with all the characters that came in and out.

The last episode of "MASH" was powerful but I did not enjoy it and will never watch it again.
