so i was at work and a friend kept calling and calling my cell phone. finally i answered and said "i'm at work, can i call you back tonight?" and they said yeah and the phone call ended. about an hour later said friend walks into my place of work without warning. the reason? to give me a valentines day card.. a damn CARD. i'm a personal assistant, which means my boss knows whenever something like that happens and knows when i'm not working since i'm with her all day. she didn't seem to mind, but it annoyed the crap out of me.

I am sick to death of my roommate,that is that last time I try and help a homeless drug addict. I just felt bad for him and he's fine when he is sober. He got really sick a couple of times and could do nothing but lay in bed for days.I just couldn't be mean to him and send him back out to the streets.

But I am moving upstairs, alone, and he is moving elsewhere.

I assume you will be posting while you are in school? I am excited to hear the coming details. Esp. where you end up going!

5. first important rule of life, my friend....

Friends are more important than jobs or bosses. It was a nice gesture. At the very least, recognize that. If he's not really your friend, then tell him you don't want cards from him, but if he is-- be happy he took the time to put friendship before less important obligations. It's too rare.

7. imo a caring and thoughtful friend wouldn't show up at a friend's place of work

without warning and without first asking if it was ok... especially considering that this job is still fairly new.

i'm not going to end our friendship over this, but it did piss me off.

I sometimes get valentines or flowers or A flower from a friend, who brings them to my work place or has them delivered. This sort of thing is for couples or romantic interests, and at the very least is embarrassing to have it be a display for your coworkers who will then either tease you or ask you who The Boy is or just Ass-Ume you have a bf.

Personally that stuff bothers me more than some people I suppose. If it were a REAL bf that would be a different story.
