I have every reason to hate Valentine's Day, but don't.

I dunno what my problem is. I struggle with feeling miserable half the time and I've hardly ever been in a position to really enjoy the day... I'm alone and lonely and lovesick... but still, I like it.

I joke about hating it but I really don't. I love it. And I feel like I should hate it, cause it's commercialized and blah blah blah... but for me a home-made card or a poem or just a nice letter would be the best gift of all, and that's what I like to give, too.

I know some people say that every day should be a day to show the person / people you love that you love them, but I already do that. So...

I think I just love love... and today is a day that despite all the commercialization is supposed to be about celebrating love, I think.

VD had very special meaning for me and my ex-wife, as it was our first "real" date together, and also a couple days before her birthday. Now it's just another day to me.

I've never been in a relationship on VD. Have been alone for a long time, and starting to get a little heartsick. but I enjoy the day.. I buy myself flowers for my desk at work (and get to watch my boss go 'Ooohhh you bought them for yourself.. that's *ahem Ahem* interesting'). Damn right I did. If I want to spend money on gorgeous flowers just for me instead of sitting around and going woe is me no one got my anything, so be it. I digress.

Commercialization aside, I love the day because I love to love, in all of it's many ways.... the comfort of the close friend, the hot fire of lust... it's all great, and I don't see a reason not to celebrate it. it's a beautiful thing.

26. I had such good plans for today...

I was going to use a spa gift card I received as a christmas gift, maybe go to the movies.... ya know RELAX.

And then...

I woke up this morning with a 102 fever, and I can't keep anything but water on my stomach. Just SUX.:mad: I feel like curling up and crying except I know it will make me feel worse.
