He also doesn't remember writing Cujo at all.

I feel better about myself now. If only I could sell my first novel for $400,000.

(reading On Writing by King at the moment)

edit: that's 32 twelve ounce beers for the mathematically disinclined

3. His alcoholic character in The Shining
could only have been written by someone who's been there or been really close to someone who has.

I'm glad he was able to break the cycle.

That Makes a Lot of Sense
I always hated that Kubrick's movie entirely dehumanized Jack.

7. OMG, I was going to ask what a "case" was. So a "case" is
thirty two beers? Wow...

Is this info from a new book by King?

11. a case is 24 beers
but it was a case of tallboys, ie 16 ounce beers. That's 32 regular twelve ounce beers.

16. Don't forget the cocaine, Valium, cough syrup, etc.
I may be a dabbler in many things myself, but I don't know what it would take to make me go that far off the deep end. What I really wonder is, how could a 40-year-old man, already a raging alcoholic, do that much coke without suffering a heart attack or stroke? The guy must have the constitution of a friggin' Clydesdale!
