Double-edged sword...
I found a new job...a pretty good one. Daytime and Monday through Friday, which means I'll be able to spend more time with my family. But damn...I'm gonna miss the one I've had for the last 6 1/2 years. Plus, I kind of feel like I'm leaving at the worst possible time, but I'm getting too old to do the two jobs thing anymore, soooooo....

Tonight's my last night.

1. Awww...
I know you loved that job. I wish they could have made it full-time for you. You deserved it.

2. I did.
Problem is, not enough hours and the ones that there are are lousy for family, yannow? But the new one pays better...offers advancement...has benefits (silly stuff like sick pay and insurance)....

It's a no-brainer, but still...I can't help but feel sad. And I feel bad for feeling sad because this really is a step in a positive direction.

How're you doin', sweetie??

3. ...
For you, this is a chapter of your life closing. I'd worry if you didn't feel sad. And stepping into a new job is scary. You'll do fine and you know that, but it's still such a big change for you.

4. Congrats!!!
I thought you had a night job for quite some time. Good to see someone else come to the lighter side of the clock. Although nights aren't bad in the right situation days are a more natural fit for many people.

5. sounds like a double blessing to me
I would have no regrets about leaving the job I have had for the last 6.5 years, nor the employer who has passed me over 5 times for promotions.
