12. Way cool--recently read Ray Manzarek's autobiography; very well-written...

and coincidentally ,I drove past the house where Morrison lived while in junior high, about 15 minutes ago; actually only a couple of miles from here; I drive past it at least a couple of times a week, and I don't think I've ever driven past without consciously thinking about how a young Jim Morrison once lived there. ( Candelaria Blvd in Albuquerque)

17. the book is titled, simply enough: Light My Fire

fascinating insights into the creation of the band and the music, as well as insights into Jim himself, by one of his very closest friends. Not a sleazy tell-all or anything , (although he occasionally gets carried away with his loathing of Oliver Stone). Manzarek, by the way, will be 70 years old this year; don't know how old you are, but that fact sure as hell makes me feel old.

I've been all over the place, and you sent me to Wiki with this one earlier. Sounds like an excellent read, and I surely did note his photo....Gee, I really feel old now, too. I was 'there' when the Doors erupted.:blush:
We rode around in the VW bug with the eight track thingy...smoking ourselves into obilivion..

Especially intrigued by his Oliver Stone issue...
Perhaps it's time to get back to Amazon :-)
