Lunch at the Smithsonian - any suggestions?
I need to suggest a meeting place near the Smithsonian this coming Friday ---informal business meeting. Are there any restaurants or coffee shops in or close by the museum? Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance for any advice! :hi:

various types as I recall with varying service levels. Self-service and up.

3. Which Smithsonian?
The food is pretty standard fare, no great shakes and it is mega expensive.

4. I used to like the ice cream parlor inside the natural history museum
but the last time I was there they had made some changes and it was not nearly as good.

You can check this web site for more info:

5. My new favorite Smithsonian restaurant --
Inside the Native American museum. They serve both Native American cuisine in addition to the general restaurant fare. It was great!

8. That was going to be my suggestion
While still a cafeteria setting, the food is much better than the other museums.

6. Manhattan Deli next to the Naval Memorial/9th and Penn that is pretty good.
I've been there every time I've gone for a protest, and also just this past January for the inauguration the daughter and I ate there the day before. Granted I've only been there for breakfast, but I hear the lunch is pretty good too.

The breakfast stuff is great and very reasonable. I got a short stack of pancakes, eggs and bacon for under $5.
