Incompetent, ignorant, dust-collecting, dumbass, desk jockey
I'm a trucker and I get paid by the mile. My boss says to me one day that I'm running too many miles on my route and he wants me to take a little bit of a different way to cut down on them. So I did and I have been running it exactly the way he wants me to.

I got a note from him last night telling me my mileage is too high and asking me why I'm running out of route. I haven't changed a thing since he told me how to run the route. I turn in my mileage every day and it has been consistently the same.

I got the note at the beginning of the night and I had to train someone as well. My head felt like it was going to explode all night until this morning when I was finally able to write him a note explaining things to him. It took an act of inhuman will power to keep from using cuss words in the note, but I managed.

Another thing that pisses me off is all of this note writing. I write pretty good, but I am able to communicate much more clearly to this jack-off when I'm talking to him. I've got a goddamn company phone. All he has to do is give me a ring and we can clear this all up without sending smoke signals.

1. My dear Droopy!
Whoooo...I can feel the heat of your anger coming right off the screen!

Maybe you could call him?

Yikes. I'm glad you're not mad at me!

:scared:

3. As angry as I was at him
I wasn't going to call him on a Saturday morning while he was enjoying his Cheerios on his day off. I've got a feeling that he will be calling me though after he gets my note. Maybe I should call him on Monday morning.

2. Kudos on your restraint...
and I would feel pretty confident that the reason he does the note thing rather than calling you is that he is a passive agressive bunghole. :fistbump:

6. lol!
I would be happy just to get him in the truck one night to ride with me on my route. He wouldn't even have to help. He could just sit there and try to stay awake and observe, but that might be asking too much. :)

10. i don't know quite how to say this, and i am probably very wrong...
but this smells a bit like a setup. a passive-aggressive way to get you pissed and to get you to blow up for reasons that could only benefit your boss if you did.

again, i am probably wrong, but what you need now is very much a written paper trail of every one of your discussions. do not have any conversation by phone, ALL in writing (email, etc.) and in all of your correspondence with the boss make sure to reiterate his instructions to you (word for word) and your exact response as to how you are following those instructions to the letter (always asking the question "do i understand your instructions?) and always make sure to cc: someone (a secretary, anyone) on each one of these written responses.

if i am wrong i do apologize, but having a clearly "documented" timeline of discussions will not hurt you in any way. it may wind up helping you in the long run.

do not lose your perspective or temper. be professional. and document, document, document...

good luck, buddy...

11. I appreciate the words of caution, 1
But I can't think of any reason why he'd want to be getting rid of me. I do what is asked of me and I don't make any major mistakes. And he needs good drivers.

I think he's just being absent minded at best and a dumbass at worst. Even though I'm angry at him right now, I'm not all the time and I've always spoken in a respectful tone when talking to him. I was assertive in the note that I wrote him yesterday morning, saying that it was he who told me to run the way I am and that I would run the route any legal way he wanted me to, but I was not unprofessional.

13. Tell him the wormhole down on I-80 has been down due to budget cuts...
...so you have to actually drive on the pavement instead of using trans-dimensional travel.

Damn economy!
