Anyone else underwhelmed by the show "Madmen"?
I thought it was pretty boring. And the ad folks were pretty blase about their jobs. I've been in the biz for 20+ years and it no way resembled a real agency.

1. I've only seen the first season, and I love me some January Jones.
The whole Zoe Bartlet twisteroonie was hopeless.

4. She's actually the best actor on the show
Her character is amazing, and she owns it.

3. I watched the first 3 or 4 episodes after repeatedly hearing how great it was
I kept waiting for it to get interesting, but it never did.

5. How much did you watch, it's a slow build but once it gets going... wow

6. I watched the first three episodes of Season 1
It crawled at a snail's pace. I think a show should get interesting after 3 hours.

7. So true!
I rented the Season 1 DVDs from Netflix. I thought the writing was excellent, and Jon Hamm is a pretty good looking hunk o'granite too!

8. I wouldn't kick him out of bed for eating crackers. Even if they were Ronald Reagan-shaped crackers.

9. Yeah, I started to get into it when they got into Don's background
It is slow, but I like that aspect of it.

10. I found quite the opposite.
The first few episodes were slow, but sort of addictive, but then they started adding sillier and more outrageous plot twists. By the end of the first season, I found it impossible to care about any of the characters anymore.

11. Is it true they skip a year in Season 2?
And that things have happened to the characters that we don't get to see take place? I'm so tempted to buy the second season from I-tunes and watch it...

12. I think the show is mostly very good.
I also enjoy it as a portrayal of my parents generation, and it does bring back memories.

13. Do you think the ad business might have changed at all in 47 years?

15. There was an article in the NY Times when the show started
That interviewed the "real Don Drapers" of the sixties. Half of them said it was realistic and what actually happened, the other half were totally offended and shocked by the portrayal of the advertising world.
