I hope this isn't the flu!
I don't feel super crappy, but I usually don't when I have the flu. I don't want to go to the doc either. All he will do is confirm or deny it is the flu. Not much you can do for the flu. I have fever, the chills, and am a little achey. I felt like crap almost in an instant on Sunday night. Sounds like the flu to me.

1. If it is the flu and you are in the 48 hours since the symptoms started

window, the doctor could give you Tamiflu for it.

3. Last time I took Tamiflu, it did nothing for me.
Today is still within the 48 hour window, but I don't want to waste my money on the Tamiflu again. It cost $50 after insurance and it did NOTHING.

5. It doesn't always work, as there are resistant strains
I could understand wanting to save the $$$, in this tight economy

2. I just got over the flu.
It wasn't fun.

Based on your symptoms, I think you have it. Sorry. It sucks.

9. Throw some vits at it!
Airborne, Wellness, Zinc Vit C, Oscmilicum(sp?) ...these things DO help...a lot! My experience, plus many others! Get Well Soon!

10. Weird. I feel exactly the same way all of the sudden.
It just started maybe 2 hours ago; my eyes feel dry and hot, my temp is slowly climbing, I feel achy all over, and exhausted to boot. The weirdest part is that I don't even have a cold--not even a slight sniffle. No coughing, no congestion, nothing. Just this odd, sudden-onset fever, chills, achiness, and fatigue. Even my hair follicles hurt; I can't brush my hair right now because even the slightest "pulling" hurts like Hades.

What really, really sucks is that I have no choice but to go to classes tomorrow. My Monday/Wednesday classes are the kind with professors who do not tolerate absences for any reason, and do not accept excuses. *sigh*

I hope you feel better soon, Shell.

12. that sounds like classic flu. the sniffles, coughing and congestion come later
usually. That sudden onset hot dried out feeling...unmistakable.

I got a shot in December, but got what I suppose was the flu the next day. No, I didn't get it from the shot. I already had it, but made me think I was just tired until the next day.
