Construction/plumbing emergency at the XemaSab house!
There is water leaking in around the bathroom window.

There is also water on the other side of the wall, which is an outside wall, but it's under the back porch, so it shouldn't be wet.

The window is old, and it's one of the original windows in the house.

What the hell?

How fucked am I? :scared:

1. Sounds like a water leak in the wall
best to shut off the water, and call a plumber ASAP (before more damage is done).

4. I don't think there's pipes that high on the wall
It's not the wall the shower hookup is on, and the nearby faucets are the sink and the hose faucet outside.

2. am I to assume it is raining in California
I thought it never did that.

It's hard to know without actually seeing things, but a little caulk or a new window are not that big a deal. Windows can be expensive, but they don't have to be.

5. Water travels. The source of the leak could be several feet away...
from the window.

Call a contractor.

6. shut the water off and see if it stops.
what kind of pipe do you have? Might not be that big of a deal, except it sounds like you might need to get into the wall to work on the pipe. If you can find the leak there are several simple solutions depending on what kind of pipe it is.
