Yeah yeah yeah, it turned a lot of product

But that was not Bowie's intention at the time

He practically invented bands like Hall and Oates and Huey Lewis with that album (don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of both, but for different reasons)

But it was his approach - it was a 70's view into the Brit view of Mainstream America's view of Soul and Motown.
