Nope. I made too much money last year. On food stamps, but I made too much to get a grant for school.

The financial aid office will have it on file, and you can go in after you receive your official offer, explain your situation, and try to negotiate for a better deal/a modification.

It is an unfortunate and well-kept secret that you can do this. Results may vary, but it's well worth a go.
