How did YOU think you did? I've had nights where I kicked ass and the audience barely knew I was there, and I've had nights where I was so bad ,I'd wished there was a paper bag over my head so no one could see it was me, and people came up to me gushing about how great I was. You may have had the occasionally inevitable off-night, or you may have been great and it was just one of those nights where you just weren't gonna get through to em. Either way, shrug it off and go get em next time, but also never hurts to analyze your performance and material as objectively, dispassionately, and egolessly ( that's not even a word , is it?) as possible and learn from it for that next time too...(its late, I'm sleepy, did that make any sense? )

No, I hadn't realized you're a performer...How very cool!

I think I did well. But during the second poem, there was a disturbance in the audience, and their concentration was broken along with mine.

And it really messed up my performance. Big time.

I paused, which was maybe a mistake. And then I resumed reading, but my momentum was lost.

And yes, you made a whole lot of sense!
