Latest installment of 'Sweet Zombie Jesus, I hate the high school'
So, the morans have this policy that if a kid uses their phone during the school day and gets caught, it gets taken away. Okay, fair enough. Not how yours truly would handle it, I would have each student in my class take out their phones, power it down and place it on their desk at the start of each class and then power it up at the end.

But, I digress.

Anyhow, a stranger sat in the school last week for three days before anyone got suspicious. Three whole days. Apparently, this isn't the first time that someone has accessed the school. Mind you now, it takes a fucking act of Congress for a parent to retrieve their child from the clinic.

So, BoyM texted someone yesterday at 1:40 and got caught. Fine. They took his phone away, but catch this. Apparently, now they are looking at text messages that were sent by the student to try and enhance the punishments. :wtf: Not sure if that is even legal, but his phone actually belongs to me and if they want to read the text messages, they fucking well better get a warrant.

So, I went up today to retrieve it and as I got there, my IT guy called my cell. I took the call, because truthfully, it was very important and went in and just out of spite, talked the entire time in the office while getting his phone back. I mouthed the words to my friend who was behind the counter.

I don't normally do things like that, but they are truly pissing me off up there. My friend knew what I was doing and she was laughing along with me.

So, fuck them.

End of today's report. Stay tuned for the update at 11PM.

2. He attended classes. I shit you not.
And, he kept telling the teachers that his paperwork wasn't ready yet. They bought it, which just goes to show you how incompetent the administration is that the teachers thought it was normal.

And, a friend of mine's daughter was stalked this year by a 2008 graduate. Really pays to know your student body, doesn't it?

3. I'd think it'd be illegal for them to read the text messages
Because well, kids don't own cell phones, their parents do, and you can't just go reading people's stuff.

4. Schools make a habit of ignoring the fact that students still have the basic rights afforded to all
citizens.

And every time it's challenged in court, the schools lose. And yet they keep doing it.

7. When my son was accused by another student of breaking this kid's
car window, ( he didn't do it, he was actually out sick that day) he got called in to 'discuss' it. He told them he wanted to call me and they told him if he did, they would suspend him.

I went batshit on them. And, the incident about the kid attending classes made the local news. Wonder how they found out? Oh, wait. I know.

I so despise this principal that I will do everything in my power to get rid of her. It looks like the only way we can get rid of her is for her to get promoted to 'Central Office'.

Is that even remotely fair? She should be out picking up trash. She's pure, unadultered evil.

10. ... they threatened to suspend him for calling a parent?
... god damn. That's just ridiculous, even compared to some of the ridiculous shit schools try to pull these days.

12. Yup. In loco parentis. Apparently only the Latin teacher knows what it means.
I told him if there was a 'next time' :eyes: that he should act like he's gonna barf and run down to the clinic and have them call me.

They so do not want to fuck with me when they're trying to fuck over my kid. That whole Mama Bear thing.

And, here's the kicker. He's a good boy. He's not a trouble maker, his teachers like him.

20. Hell, in this litigious society (bet the principle doesn't know THAT word either) that's the sort of
thing that could become a lawsuit.

11. Yeah, having to promote somebody to get rid of them is ridiculous
They should get caught stealing breakfast sandwiches from a Sheetz or something. If it's like up here, they'll get fired for it, but still keep half their pension.

13. This woman is so incompetent.
TM was the SCA VP for two years. She attended PTSA meetings as a rep every other month for said two years. Last March, this douchebag actually leaned across the table and said to her "Who are you and what are you doing at this meeting?"

I shit you not. She didn't know we had a show choir, stated as much in fact. Thought that the students who took Dual Enrollment classes at the CC had to go there, didn't realize the teachers came to the school.

But, she never misses a photo op. She's a total publicity whore, so I figured I'd get her some.

I can't tell you how much I despise this woman. She doesn't even remotely like kids. Knows none of them. I mean, seriously, TM is SCA VP for two years and this fucking idiot doesn't know her? No wonder the kid was able to sit in classes for three days.

16. At my high school, the principal was terrible, but I was on a first name basis with him at least
He was a raging little homophobe and I (and my friend Jess) were the thorns in his side with the school's gay-straight alliance.

He once said to me, "people will throw bricks through your window with 'fag' on it" and once quoted a homophobic remark ("I don't want to be a 'fag' or a 'fairy' or nothing like that") MADE BY A TEACHER as the sort of attitudes people had and why we shouldn't have a GSA.

We made it our goal to use as much psychological warfare on him as we could, and we succeeded.

5. That's what I think as well.
I told me son if he got his phone taken away again, I would come down on him like the wrath of God, but I truly just want an excuse to go postal on those assholes.

8. We have been told here
under NO CIRCUMSTANCES are we to look at ANY messages, photos, whatever on a kid's phone. We're supposed to send them to the dean and things will be handled at the admin level. We had a problem with 6th graders trading semi-nude and body part photos on their cell phones last year. It gets sticky with the law and what's found. Not sure what they do at the high school level here. When we do take a phone, we're to give it to an administrator aka dean and they will return said phone at the end of the day for first time offenders. After that mommy or daddy has to come up after school to pick the phone up in person.

17. God willing no.
Here, we have what is called 'site based management', another term for 'the principal can do anything they fucking want to with impunity'.

It sucks. There is no accountability...unless you're a child.

Having been on the teacher side of the fence, I just can't stand anyone who is abusive to a child in any manner, and that includes lording their authority over them. It's flat out wrong.
