6. I turned 40 5 years ago. I can tell you this much

The dread of turning 40 is worse than being 40. I found that after I turned 40 the sun still shined and the birds still sing. I didn't feel any different than I did in my 30s.

Take care of yourself with good nutrition and excercise. The older you get the more this makes a BIG difference. With proper nutrition and excercise age does little to limit your activities.

As I mentioned to Beach Baby, in another thread, happiness is not age dependent. Every study I have seen has found that happiness does not diminish as we get older. In fact many studies suggest the wisdom, we obtain, actually increases our happiness.


Finally have a happy B-day all you soon to be forty somethings!

40. I turned 40 three years and almost 11 months ago

it sucked. I couldn't find anyone to celebrate with on my birthday, so I went home to Ohio hoping my family would celebrate with me. My mom had "other commitments" and my dad had his TV shows that he couldn't miss. :-(

I've noticed since that I get hit on far more often, but the guys hitting on me are often younger and obviously just want sex. The whole "puma" thing (and I'm not talking about Hillary supporters) has warped a lot of minds out there. I blame it all on "sex and the city".
