3 bricked computers? *3*!?
Somehow I've bricked 3 computers this week.

Good god, I better not touch the TV. I'm on a roll. I'm sure I can brick that one too!

Crap, crap, crap.

1. I had 2 bricks yesterday.
First time I have had one literally smokin'. That one is probably a permanent brick. I reloaded Windows on this one, and I am in the long and painful process of setting it up. Can't seem to locate my Office disks, though...

5. I attempted to fix them.
I failed miserably, I can tell you that.

One in smoking ruins.
One that clicks after changing memory. The mother board clicks at me and blinks ominously. No matter what peripheral is attached now.
I had to reset the bios on the third. It did not end well.

3. Must be something going around.
I managed to kill my main PC last week, and had to assemble a system from the corpse of that one and two others. It's slower, which is a pain in the ass, but I can't afford a new machine right now, so this will have to do for a few months. :evilfrown:

6. The replacement costs are a pain.
I'm going to have to dig deep in the closet to get something running temporarily.

9. Update on mine...
I've got most of my stuff working on the new one. One big problem, though... I cannot get my data that was backed up on the old machine to restore on this one. Spent hours chatting with symantec today. I have a file on my external HD named Norton_360_backup with 5+ GB of stuff in it. You cannot tell it to go to a specific file location and it cannot find the file on its own. The Norton techs keep telling me it should work.

Tomorrow I am raising hell. Just too tired to deal with it any more tonight.
