GREAT--thanks to computer error, a simple $65 fee has become a $325 hole in my bank account.
In the process of submitting a show to a musical theater festival in NYC, I was asked to pay $65 online. But after I typed in all of my info, their website told me that I got the billing address wrong. Weird, I thought, and as per usual on the 'net, I tried entering my address in various ways, but no dice--the error message kept coming up every time I pressed "submit" and the entry fee (according to their site) remains unpaid.

But when I went to Bank of America's website to check up on my billing address, I got a nasty warning that I was overdrawn--by quite a lot. My bank thinks I not only payed the festival entry fee, but paid it FIVE CONSECUTIVE TIMES.

UGH--I have to wait until morning to get this straightened out. Ain't technology grand? x(

1. I hope you can get a refund
quickly for the other four payments. That is really incredibly unprofessional for them to accept the payment, but make it look as if they had rejected it.

If the payment went through, regardless of any mismatches, they should have given you an online confirmation so you knew it went through.

That's just entirely irresponsible on their party. There is no excuse for that.

2. Bill them.
If their mistake has cost you $$$, maybe a nice friendly billing reminder will get them to see the error of their ways.

Mark.
